August 13th, 2016 - Mason Competes in Ralph Latham at Florence Speedway
Competing with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Mason Zeigler stopped at Farley Speedway (Farley, Iowa) on Monday night for the $10,000-to-win Monday Mayhem event. In a field of 28 cars, Zeigler scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Jason Papich giving him the pole position for the feature. On Thursday night Zeigler returned to action at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) for the rescheduled Ralph Latham Memorial. With 65 Super Late Models signed in for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program, Zeigler placed 5th in his heat sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the top two into the $30,000-to-win main event, Mason fell three positions short with a 5th place finish.

Running in two rounds of heat races on Friday for a chance to make the $50,000-to-win Sunoco North/South 100 on Saturday night, Mason withdrew from the rest of the weekend’s events after discovering some car troubles following a 11th place finish in his first heat.

August 6th, 2016 - Zeigler Follows World of Outlaws to Cedar Lake Speedway
Returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Mason Zeigler made the trek to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Thursday night for the three-day USA Nationals. With 50 Super Late Models signed in, Zeigler came one position short of a transfer spot in his heat with a 4th place finish. Storming to a 12-lap consolation victory, Mason earned the 20th-starting position for the feature. Working his way into the Top 10, Mason Ziegler gained ten positions in the 30-lapper posting a 10th place finish.

After timing in 6th fastest in his group of 25 on Friday night, Mason stormed to a 10-lap heat race win sending him into the 6-lap Pole Dash. Working his way up to a 3rd place finish, Zeigler earned the 3rd-starting spot for the main event on Saturday night. With $50,000 on the line, Mason was an early retiree from the 100-lapper after pulling off on lap 18 due to mechanical issues. (Bruce Nuttleman Photo)
