May 27, 2020 - Mason Zeigler Hangs on to Third Place Finish in East Bay Nationals Finale
On Monday night Mason Zeigler returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the Geico East Bay Nationals. With 35 cars on hand for the second stage of the Reopening Tour, Zeigler followed up the third fastest time in his time trial group with a third place finish in his heat. Earning the 10th-startiing position for the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Mason dropped two spots in the 40-lapper to record a 12th place outing.

The following night after coming in seventh fastest in his qualifying group, Mason suffered a broken rear end while running in second in his heat. With a provisional already secured into the main event, Zeigler sat out his consolation event to get his JLE Industries No. 25 entry repaired. Unable to finish the repairs before the start of the feature, Mason was a scratch from the 40-lap affair.

On Thursday afternoon to wrap up the Geico East Bay Nationals, Zeigler laid down the fifth fastest time in his group before placing second in his heat behind Jimmy Owens. With $7,000 on the line in the feature, Mason snuck past early race-leader Tyler Erb on the fifth lap for a circuit until Erb regained the top spot for the next 20 laps. After challenging Erb several times in the final 10 laps, the pair exchanged sliders with three-to-go, allowing Brandon Overton to enter the battle. Unable to close the distance after contact sent him back to third, Mason Zeigler posted a third place finish behind Brandon Overton and Tyler Erb with Jimmy Owens and Devin Moran rounding out the Top-5. May 21, 2020 - Zeigler Charges to Runner-up Finish in Lucas Oil Reopening Tour
With the promoters and track officials mandating several precautionary measures to hold the event during the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Mason Zeigler traveled to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on Tuesday afternoon for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Reopening Tour. Drawing 43 cars for the Optima Batteries Golden Isles Nationals, Zeigler laid down the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group before coming in third in his heat race. (Heath Lawson photos)

Rolling off ninth for the opening night feature, Mason began working his way forward on the drop of the green flag, overtaking Shane Clanton for fifth on lap 23. After sliding ahead of Josh Richards for third a few laps later, Zeigler edged ahead of Brandon Overton with two laps remaining, putting him second on the final rundown behind Jimmy Owens with Overton, Josh Richards, and Devin Moran rounding out the Top-5 finishers.

For the second round of the Golden Isles Nationals on Wednesday, Mason edged his way into the $7,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 14th, Zeigler passed six cars in the 40-lapper to register and eighth place finish.

On Thursday evening, Zeigler followed up the third fastest time in his group with a third place finish in his heat. With $7,000 on the line in the finale, Mason overtook Josh Richards for the lead on lap 29 and looked to have the win secured but hard contact with the wall with two-to-go left Zeigler parked against the concrete barrier. He was credited with a 16th place outing.
